Question
Owners: Should I pay the borrowers for taking care of my dog?
Answer
Absolutely not: once you're a member of Meet My Doggo, you don't have to pay anything. Borrowers want to spend time with your dog and take care of it because they love dogs, not for financial gain.
It is forbidden for a borrower to request money from an owner for taking care of their dog for a simple reason: if borrowers are paid, their liability insurance no longer covers your dog, leaving it uninsured. Members who do not respect this can be excluded from Meet My Doggo (without a refund). If a borrower asks you for money, please let us know and we will contact this person.
However, when you let your dog with a borrower for a long period of time, it is common practice to offer a contribution to cover the cost of your dog's food and other expenses related to its care. You cannot offer remuneration to the borrower.
